The 28000 Signal ConditionerPress ReleaseThe 28000 System is a 256-channel conditioner designed to interface with structural and vibration transducers. Two 16 channel modules are available for the 28000 System, one to condition Smart accelerometers programmed with Transducer Electronic Datasheet (TEDs) information and another to condition capacitive accelerometers with static (DC) response. Up to 16 modules may be mixed and matched in the system for a total of 256 channels. The smart accelerometer module provides a programmable IEPE current source that may be shut off so that the unit may operate as a voltage amplifier. TEDs data may be read from any 1451.4 compatible sensor and into a transducer database and information from the transducer database may be used to program the amplifier channels directly. In addition, the sensor bias voltage may be measured and reported. A unique method of automatically verifying sensor output impedance as well as frequency response effects of the input cabling is provided with each channel. The module for conditioning static capacitive type accelerometers features a three-wire interface is provided with programmable constant voltage excitation and an automatic zero suppress circuit. Sensor excitation voltage may be monitored through the channel input. All modules for the 28000 System include programmable gain and programmable 4-pole filters, sensor open or short detection as well as overload detectors with programmable trip levels alert the user to faulty sensor connections or signal clipping. To verify performance and to ease system maintenance, an optional Test Subsystem provides in place system measurements, traceable to NIST. Contact Precision Filters, Inc., 240 Cherry Street, Ithaca,
