Returning equipment to Precision Filters
for Calibration or Repair
Precision Filters equipment is rigorously tested and burned in prior to shipment.
Should your equipment require calibration or repair, use this procedure.
1. Contact Precision Filters (607) 277-3550 to obtain a Return
Merchandise Authorization Number.
2. Provide a detailed description of the problem and a statement
of the service required.
The Service Form included at the front
of the supplied Operation and Maintenance
Instructions manual
provides a useful format for documenting this information.
3. Use original packing materials to return the equipment to
Precision Filters. A new
container can be purchased from Precision Filters.
Warranty:
A. Initial Warranty. All Precision Filters' products
are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the
date of shipment. Precision Filters will replace or repair products which prove
to be defective during the warranty period. No other warranty is expressed or
implied. Precision Filters, Inc. is not responsible for consequential damages.
Return units with shipping charges prepaid. Units will be returned with shipping
cost C.O.D.
B. Extended Warranty. Beginning with the second year, a
full service repair agreement is available that covers all instrument failures
except those resulting from abuse, misuse or accidental damage, and it includes
all labor and parts necessary to restore the instrument to normal operations and
specifications. The price of the extended warranty is 8.25% of the current
purchase price for new equipment per year. The extended warranty must be elected
30 days before expiration of any existing warranty period.
Post Warranty, Calibration and Repairs:
A. Precision Filters, Inc. will perform Calibration on
products at its factory in Ithaca, NY.
The price for calibration is equal to 12%
of the price of new equipment plus the cost of transportation and insurance.
Precision Filters provides Z-540 calibration on designated instruments in the
active product line. Z-540 calibration data is available at $100 per item
calibrated. Precision Filters provides standard (non- Z-540) calibration on
identified instruments.
B. Precision Filters, Inc. will perform Repairs on
products on the active and inactive product lines that are required following
expiration of the initial or extended warranty periods, at its factory in
Ithaca, NY. The price for repair is equal to 22% of the price of new equipment
plus the cost of transportation and insurance. Precision Filters performs
repairs with Z-540 calibration on designated instruments in the active product
line. Z-540 calibration data is available at $100 per item calibrated. Precision
Filters provides standard (non- Z-540) repair on identified instruments.
